Ok so we are on to the last of the responsive frameworks although I have been going with the bootstrap method mixed with word press for most of my sites its nice to have a look around and see what else is about because all of the other fame works I have reviewed here seem to have there good and bad points and I will not be building any websites without making them responsive.
Let me tell you why with the influx of pone tablet and the newest derivative of these which is the “phablet” (phone/tablet) there is no point in website designers ignoring the fact that users and clients appreciate the extra effort in the responsiveness of websites built in this way, and if they are not designed in this way to produce quality websites developers will have to revisit their clients and rebuild their websites.
If you have a website and would like to make if responsive I may have found the framework just for you although it is atill a fair amount of work to change from an existing platform to a new one.
Gumby is a complex but some how simple framework that has been developed to be ultra lightweight in terms of the css and the javascrit implemented in such simple terms for menus and the other video playback responsiveness is just sweet.

The responsive menu system is really nice that’s one thing that does bug me about a lot of responsive frameworks is that clunky menu but have a look at this one clean precise and ultra fast.

Gumby also uses SASS for those who don’t know what SASS’y is it is a collection of Sass is an extension of CSS3, adding nested rules variables minix and selector inheritance. Basically it is the future of CSS3 and is available under the MIT license so is free to use and distribute.
I might try to mix this with WordPress as it looks quite impressive and seems to have a much smaller footprint in terms of file size it would be interesting to see how it performs within a content management system.

Great post you are totally right about the menu system, straight out of the box this looks good more of a fuluid grid than bootstrap.

Ive been using gumby for a while now its basic but that’s why I like it you can completely customize the look and feel of your project.
Could have gone into more detail about the javascript.
